  1. Fade XCMD is a tool for fading screen effect in HyperCard 2 
  2. running on Macintosh computer.

  4. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  5. The software required to run Fade XCMD is a standard Macintosh System 7.0 or later with HyperCard 2.0 or later. 
  6. You must have one of the following configurations:  Macintosh II, Centris,
  7. Quadra or PowerMac with System 7.0 or later.
  8. (Fade XCMD does not work with old Macintosh SE or Plus with 68000 processor)

  11. Version 1.0 first released june 1993.
  12. Version 1.0.1 released may 1994.
  13. Version 1.1 released september 1994.
  14. Version 1.2 released january 1995.

  16. Bug corrected in version 1.2 :
  17. 'Fade in' is now possible in startup handler like this:
  18. on startup  -- for fade in before displaying the first card
  19.   fade in
  20.   pass startup
  21. end startup
  22. Don't forget to 'Fade out' (in OpenStack handler is most secure...)

  24. New enhancements in version 1.1 :
  25. o parameter memory : 
  26.   all color and speed parameters are kept in global variables: not useful to repeat the same value in successive calls.
  27.   name of global variables: FadeRed, FadeGreen, FadeBlue, FadeSpeed
  28. o new options :
  29.   - ratio of fade: in global FadeRatio
  30.   FadeRatio = 100       --> complete fade to calor
  31.   0 < FadeRatio < 100   --> partial fade
  32.   FadeRatio = 100       --> do nothing
  33.   - choose of screen device: in global FadeDev
  34.   in case of Mac with several monitors, the number in FadeDev (1,2,.. 
  35.   like in the control panel Monitors) indicates the monitor to fade (but
  36.   only one at the same time -- sorry for this restriction..)

  38. New features of version 1.0.1 are :
  39. - same XCMD, but small changes in fading demo stack

  42. - no known bug, be kind to send me a bug report by email...

  44. DOWNLOADING Fade XCMD
  45. Use Binhex mode for transfering fading.sea.hqx file to your Macintosh,
  46. then you get Fading.sea file. Autodecompress this file by double-clicking
  47. on its icon.
  48. If you don't have HyperCard 2 or after, you can freely transfer the file 
  49. HCPlayer.sea.hqx by the same protocol.
